Town boss Joe Royle has named an 18-man squad for Friday's live Sky TV game at Sheffield United. Tommy Miller, Jim Magilton, Ian Westlake, Kelvin Davis and Chris Bart-Williams have all missed training this week but came through Wednesday's session without a problem.

Former Town striker David Johnson scored twice as his Nottingham Forest side beat the Blues 2-1 and prevented Joe Royle's side from cementing their play-off place. Johnson netted in each half with Dean Bowditch scoring an equaliser for Town in the first period.

Eight new academy players for 2004/05 were inducted into the club last night. The players come from all over the British Isles with Northern Ireland, Scotland, the Republic of Ireland and Suffolk all represented.

Town have announced a freeze on season ticket prices for the fourth successive year. Fans renewing their tickets will pay the same as they did last year regardless of which division Town are in for 2004/05, if they renew by May 28th - one day prior to a potential play-off appearance by the Blues.

Town boss Joe Royle says he has sympathy for wantaway midfielder Martijn Reuser. The Dutchman says he will leave Portman Road in the summer after failing to nail down a starting place with the Blues.

Two second half goals in five minutes from Martijn Reuser and Darren Bent saw Town come from behind to beat Gillingham 2-1 at the Priestfield Stadium. Early in the first period John Hills had put the home side in the lead from the spot in a game played in blustery conditions on a bumpy pitch.

Richard Naylor turned from gamekeeper to poacher to score the winner for Town's reserves at home to Fulham. Naylor, who had started the game at centre-back, moved up front in the second half and scrambled home the game's only goal on 80 minutes.

Young FC Zwolle goalkeeper Sven Veldhuizen has revealed that he has spent four days on trial with the Town academy. Recently celebrating his 19th birthday, Veldhuizen is highly-rated in Holland and says he hopes the Blues will retain their interest in him.
